It is very important to keep an up-to-date appraisal of your string instrument. It provides an accurate and trusted statement of value to your insurance company should your instrument be stolen, damaged, destroyed or otherwise lost. Because the value of a string instrument appreciates, it is highly advisable (perhaps necessary!) to have your instrument re-appraised periodically so that your record of the value is accurate.
